Hand in Hand Parenting’s listening tools are incredible. They are based on the idea that all people need connection in order to function and thrive. And to learn. The relationship between a parent and child is vital and the most powerful one a child will ever experience.

BUT:

The teacher-student relationship is a close second. Schools need to support teachers to allow for emotional understanding. Teachers need support in order to listen to students, to be flexible and even playful in challenging situations.

I would love to work with preschool teachers and administrators to make support accessible and come up with some strategies. Over time, and with a supportive environment, teachers can use the listening tools to support students, parents and fellow teachers.

Here is a list of descriptions of school programs using the listening tools from Hand in Hand.
