Hi! I am Laura Minnigerode, founder of Listening For Good.
I live in Austin, Texas with my family, which includes 3 children and 3 dogs. Being a parent has brought me a lot of challenges and also the opportunity to grow into a new version of myself. Hand in Hand Parenting has been a big part of making that possible.
My background is in educational research and classroom teaching. I have always been fascinated by the way in which humans develop and the role that our emotions play. Being a support person for human emotion is such a great honor. I work with parents ranging from brand-new parents to parents of teenagers, to develop approaches and strategies for an easier, more connected family life.
I have a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and teaching credentials to teach elementary and secondary grades. I work with early childhood educators, as a registered trainer. I also a certified instructor of infant massage, infant mental health practitioner, and certified Hand in Hand Parenting instructor.
My experience with parenting by connection goes back a long way: I first received materials written by Patty Wipfler when I took a parenting class as a new mother in 2001. These powerful listening tools have helped me to hold space and listen through so many times when it seemed it could not be possible to listen. Hand in Hand Parenting has given me the gift of Learning to listen with all the love in my heart. It has made it possible for me to become closer to being the parent I want to be.
